Nancy Davis-Murty was first attracted to quilting by the colors, textures and tactile sensation of working with fabric. Howerver she also loved painting and the traditional fine art from her art-school training. This dilemma led her to investigate techniques that would allow her to combine both loves. She began exploring silk painting, hand-dyed and hand-painted fabrics, and thread embellishment as well as other techniques. Her interest in fabric painting and embellishing as well as her love of color are evident in the fabrics she designs for Andover Fabrics.
