    30 Count Linen

30 ct Over Dyed Cross Stitch Linen from R&R Reproductions and Weeks Dye Works. Order a full yard, 1/2 yard, 1/4 yard or 1/8 yard. Linens are the traditional cross stitch fabric, linen has roughly twice as many holes per inch as Aida. This does not mean, however, that there are twice as many stitches per inch. In fact, when stitching on linen, you will usually skip one hole when making your stitch, so that stitching on 30ct linen gives you 15 stitches per inch.

Linens are the traditional cross stitch fabric, linen has roughly twice as many holes per inch as Aida. This does not mean, however, that there are twice as many stitches per inch. In fact, when stitching on linen, you will usually skip one hole when making your stitch, so that stitching on 32ct linen gives you 16 stitches per inch, the same as 16ct Aida.

    Weeks Dye Works

This hand over-dyed, 6-stranded Egyptian cotton fiber was Weeks Dye Works' initial product line. It was introduced into the cross-stitch and embroidery market in 1994. The colors are variegated enough to be noticeable, yet subtle enough to blend naturally.

Because it is pliable, this fiber is perfect for surface embroidery, cross-stitch and needlepoint on many different counts of fabric and canvas. It also works great for punch needle (1-, 3- and 6-strand) and stitching on wool appliqué and penny rugs. It gives a more nuanced appearance to the fine stitching on appliqué when compared to the heavier fibers, like pearl cotton.

Weeks Dye Works is working to make all of the flosses colorfast, if you need to be sure the floss is colorfast, please contact us for information about the particular colors you are ordering.
