    Michael Miller Fabrics was born in the spring of 1999. The brainchild of Michael Steiner and Kathy Miller. Two parents brought together not by love and marriage but solely by professional respect for each others' abilities. By leveraging their lives for an SBA loan, borrowing money from family and living on credit cards, Michael and Kathy were able to give birth to a start-up fabric company called "Michael Miller Fabrics". The first year in business proved to be just as hard as raising a newborn. There were many long days and many sleepless nights. As a result of limited funds, Michael and Kathy were unable to afford the high rent of a Manahattan office space. Michaels' NewYork City apartment provided them with the initial space they needed. Kathy spent long days in the kitchen which served as a design studio while Michael spearheaded production and sales in the dining room. As time went on the company grew to a team of around 20 people and moved to a "home" of its own at 118 West 22nd street in New York City.

    Asian and Japanese themed fabric from Michael Miller Fabrics. Collections include the wonderful Geisha and scenery panels that Micheal Miller is known for.



    Backyard Baby


    This fun children's fabric is from Patty Sloniger, a new designer for Michael Miller Fabrics.  It is a baby boy themed collection with bugs, lizards and turtles in cool blues, greens and grays.  These fabrics are quality fabric great for quilts, clothes, and home decor.



    Bleu Paris



    This elegant collection is from the French Journal collection by Michael Miller Fabric.  It includes birds, butterflies, stripes and more in a variety of greens and blues.



    Cotton Couture

    It is a good day for quilters when a new solid comes around. The Cotton Couture Solids from Michael Miller are made from long staple cotton and have a beautiful hand. They feel fine enough and soft enough for a pillowcase!  The colors are rich and but the tones are a little softer than most solids and they will play well with Japanese prints, and some of the other hard to coordinate with groups from some of the Free Spirit and Lecien designers, and did we mention they have a wonderful hand and drape?   These solids are a little more money, but well worth it!     Magnolia Lane is a bright spring collection by Laura Gunn for Michael Miller Fabrics.  It includes Painter's Canvas prints in a variety of cheery colors as well as floral patterns that make you think of fresh cut flowers in the springtime.

    This soft flannel collection is from Michael Miller Fabrics.  It includes aqua, gray, beige, teal and periwinkle stripes, dots and animals.
