Weeks Dye Works Pearl Cotton Floss
Pearl Cotton floss from Weeks Dye Works is 100% hand over-dyed and is great for wool applique. Use the heavier weights (#3, #5 & #8) for embellishing and embroidery and use the #12 weight for buttonhole stitching the wool applique pieces.
#5 Weight
#5 weight is the most common WDW Pearl Cotton weight because it is draws attention to the stitches, but does not take away from the pieces of the project.
#3 Weight
Size 3 Pearl Cotton from Week's Dye Works is a thicker pearl cotton suitable for embellishing and embroidery. Stitch or couch it to make vines and tendrils or use it to add details and texture to wool appliqué. Pearl Cotton is a hand dyed to produce a rich, variegated thread.
#8 Weight
#8 weight WDW Pearl Cotton floss is finer than #5 which takes the focus away from the stitches and to the project pieces and design.
#12 Weight
#12 weight WDW Pearl Cotton floss is the finest of the Pearl Cottons. It is great for embroidery detail and is fine enough to fit through embellishing beads but strong enough to hold them in place.
